Account Setup

You can be up and running in about 5 minutes using our step-by-step process. Click this link GET STARTED and follow the steps.

⚠️ Important: Complete your initial account setup from a computer instead of your phone to ensure everything is set up correctly.

You can set up all your social media accounts when you first sign up, but you can also start with one social media platform and add more later. GoToLinks currently supports Instagram and TikTok. 

Please note: To connect Instagram to GoToLinks you will need a Professional Instagram account – meaning a Creator or Business account. It’s easy to upgrade your Instagram to a Professional account if it’s not already. You can learn more about that here.

  1. Log in to your account from a computer instead of your phone.
  2. From the Menu select Settings.
  3. Click on the Account tab.
  4. Click the Connect button for the social media account you want to add.
  5. Complete the social media platform’s authentication process to give GoToLinks access to your account. (We do not see any of your login credentials as part of this process.)

Your GoToLinks username is used in the link you put in your bio (https://gotolinks.com/username)  and is often the same or similar to your social media handle. If you need to change your username:

 

  1. Select Settings in the menu.
  2. Go to the Account tab.
  3. Under General Info at the bottom of the screen, click the “Change Username” button.
  4. Type in a New Username and click “Confirm Change”.
  5. You will be logged out and will be required to log back in.

 

This change goes into effect immediately. Remember to update your link in bio on all platforms with your new link, as your previous link will no longer work.

Managing Posts

When you connect your social media accounts, GoToLinks immediately starts importing the last 90 posts from your account. Going forward, every time you post on your connected social media accounts the post will be automatically imported and will usually appear in your admin grid within a couple minutes. 

 

For Instagram, we also automatically pull the last link from your post caption as your post link. For TikTok, you will have the option to manually add those links so it’s super quick and easy!

Want a post that is exclusively on your GoToLinks grid without posting to your socials? You can manually upload any image to your GoToLinks grid:

 

  1. Select Upload from the menu.
  2. Tap “Upload File” and choose any image from your phone’s photos, or any file from your computer.
  3. Complete the post details:
    1. Enter the Link for this post. (You must include http:// or https:// for the link to be clickable.)
    2. Select a Pin Order if you want this image pinned in the first 9 posts of your grid.
  4. Tap Save.

Yes! Pin up to 9 posts to maximize exposure for your best-performing content.

Auto Publish:

  • Just post to Instagram/TikTok

  • Normally in less than 2 mins, the post appears in GoToLinks

  • The last link in the caption is pulled automatically (for Instagram only)

Manual Publish:

  • Go to Admin Dashboard → “Upload”

Troubleshooting Tips

When posts from Instagram don’t have links in their captions and all TikTok posts first get pulled into GoToLinks they are defaulted to not Visible.  To make them Visible all you need to do is open the post from the home screen of GoToLinks and check the box that says Visible. 

If a post from Instagram does have a link in its caption GoToLinks will pull the link into GoToLinks and the post will be Visible by default.


In the integration with Meta, they sometimes give us your video cover image but sometimes don’t, so what comes over may not match what you have on IG. This is the case for all link in bio tools. However, unlike other link in bio tools, we’ve got you covered! We made it so you can easily change the video cover image and upload any photo of your choice that will show on your GoToLinks grid:

 

  1. Open the post from the admin Home page.
  2. Click the 3 dots to the right of the image and select Replace.
  3. Upload the cover image you want to display in your grid.

You or your followers may occasionally see a warning message when clicking your link in bio on TikTok that says “You’re about to open an external website”. This is a safety measure that TikTok has implemented for any URL (including other link in bio tools) to let your followers know they are leaving TikTok. Since this warning message is from TikTok, GoToLinks has no control over when or why it happens or when it might turn off.

It does appear to occur sporadically and there does not appear to be any way to remove or bypass this message, although some users have seen it turn off over time. However, if you or your followers encounter this message, you can simply click to proceed to be taken to the link destination.

How do I add GoToLinks as an app to my phone's home screen?

  1. Visit admin.gotolinks/username in Safari (use your username)
  2. Login
  3. Tap the Share icon (square with up arrow)
  4. Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”
  5. Tap “Add” in the top right corner
  1. Visit admin.gotolinks/username in Chrome(use your username)
  2. Login
  3. Tap the three dots menu in the upper right
  4. Select “Add to Home screen” or “Install App”
  5. Tap “Add” to confirm
